CLEARWATER, MN – Minnesota-based custom thermoformer T.O. Plastics Inc. is participating in the Star News’ observance of Minnesota Manufacturing Week, Oct. 1 through Oct. 7.
As a leading custom thermoformer headquartered in Minnesota, it's our great pleasure to observe Minnesota Manufacturing Week. We work hard in our manufacturing of complex plastic packaging and parts, while staying true to our Minnesota roots.
From our founding in 1948 in the garage / basement of a Minneapolis home, we have grown to be a national leader in custom thermoformed plastic products and packaging, now employing more than 130 people between our Otsego and Clearwater manufacturing facilities.
We've built our success through partnering with customers and committing to serving various industries - life sciences, horticultural and industrial - by designing and manufacturing quality packaging and complex products. These run the gamut from custom medical device packaging to electronics packaging, and many variations in between. Additionally we've developed our own line of pots and trays designed specifically for the greenhouse, plant propagation, retail, and nursery segments of the horticulture industry.
Our teams committment to upholding our core values is paramount in our success:
To ensure continued success, we've cultivated important internal resources and capabilities to add value to our customers, including:
We are honored to serve as an important regional source of employment, and we work hard to offer great benefits, competitive pay and opportunities for promotion. The talent and work ethic of Minnesotans is an essential component for successful operations. We have a number of available positions in our Otsego and Clearwater facility, open for immediate placement. A list of all current opportunities can be found on our careers web page.
Throughout our years of growth and investment, we've strived to be a good steward of resources and a good neighbor to the surrounding communities. We are intentional in our efforts to give back to our local communities, as well as our planet, through our recycling efforts and our monetary and time donations to local organizations.
Nearly all our plastic scrap is recycled or reused, by us or other companies that purchase the scrap from us to make new raw material. Throughout the past few years we've donated various local organizations including the Clearwater-Clear Lake Food Shelf, Clearwater Fire Department and Tri-County Humane Society as well as to national men’s cancer awareness initiatives (i.e. Movember).
This past spring, we also lent support to a nonprofit directly related to the horticulture industry it serves by donating 1,800 square pots and 90 matching carry trays to Peace by Peace, a Florida-based plant nursery and organization that supplies indoor air-purifying plants to school students.
We're a proud Minnesota manufacturer, and are grateful for our employees, neighbors, communities, customers, and fellow manufacturers. This is a great state for business, and we look forward to many years of continued growth in Minnesota.
