T.O. Plastics, a leading U.S. manufacturer of thermoformed packaging and parts in the food, medical, industrial, recreational, consumer products and horticulture markets, is pleased to announce that its Otsego thermoforming facility has achieved a Certificate of Compliance from the American Institute of Baking (AIB).
The 65-year-old company produces a wide variety of custom thermoformed food packaging containers, including clamshells, deli containers, plastic trays and other custom food packaging.
AIB International’s inspections are based upon a widely recognized set of consolidated standards that contain the requirements for achieving superior food safety in manufacturing operations. The comprehensive AIB GMP Inspection Audit evaluates the adequacy of operational methods and personnel practices, maintenance for food safety, cleaning practices, integrated pest management, and adequacy of prerequisite and food safety programs.
AIB Compliance is recognized by food companies as a measure of world-class manufacturing programs. The AIB Compliance rating confirms that T.O. Plastics maintains its equipment, facility, quality system, packaging materials and products in a clean, safe manner and is fit for producing food-contact packaging materials in its operations.
Mike Vallafskey, President of T.O. Plastics, said, “This achievement further expands T.O. Plastics’ ability to meet customers’ food packaging container needs through AIB's comprehensive quality protocol. Successfully completing this rigorous independent inspection of our Otsego facility is a validation of the work we have done internally to assure the highest possible production standards for food packaging. It also gives our customers continued assurance that they can have total confidence in the quality and safety of our products."
