T.O. Plastics products may contain trace amounts of chemicals that require notification and warning labels under California’s Prop 65 law, also known as the Safe Drinking Water and Toxic Enforcement Act of 1986. New regulations effective August 30, 2018, applies to manufacturers, and distributors as well as retailers who sell consumer products in California (https://www.p65warnings.ca.gov/).
Materials we use to manufacturer our products -- polystyrene (PS), high impact polystyrene (HIPS) and acrylonitrile butadiene styrene terpolymer (ABS) -- are not on the California EPA’s list of Chemicals Known to the State to Cause Cancer or Reproductive Toxicity (the “List”), but there may be trace amounts of List chemicals on our products that may not be eliminated during our manufacturing processes. When we obtain the raw materials to make PS, HIPS and ABS products, the raw material contains residue of some of these List chemicals. The trace chemicals may include:
- Polystyrene
- High Impact Polystyrene (HIPS)
- Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene (ABS)
- Ethylbenzene, Cumene, Styrene
- Ethylbenzene, Styrene
- Acrylonitrile, 1,3-Butadiene, Styrene
Below are links to download warning labels that should be applied to our products containing these materials.
